This course is structured for individuals of all experience levels to enhance proficiency and understanding of the shotgun for personal defense. Participants examine the advantages and limitations of the shotgun as a primary defensive tool, distinguishing evidence-based facts from common myths.

The curriculum includes evaluating firearm performance across various distances and ammunition types.

Course Requirements:

  • Safety Standards: Strict compliance with all instructor and Range Safety Officer commands is mandatory.

  • Personal Protection: Eye and ear protection are required, along with closed-toe shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.

  • Ammunition: A total of 120 rounds is necessary (it is suggested that this includes at least 10 rounds of buckshot and 5 slugs).

  • Equipment: An ammunition carrier, caddy, or sufficient pocket space is required. A limited selection of items may be available for evaluation or temporary use during the session.
